Chinese-owned British brand Morris Garages (MG) has showcased a tiny two-seater electric car named MG E200 at the Auto Expo 2020. The compact 3-door EV measures just 2,488mm long (676mm shorter than Tata Nano), 1,506mm wide, 1,617mm tall. It weighs around 800kg.
The E200 is powered by a 29kW (39hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor. The top speed is 100kmph. MG says the motor is as ‘quiet as a library’. It has a range of 210km on a single charge.
Like modern vehicles, it has LED lights, 7.0-inch touchscreen display, ABS, EBD, multiple airbags, etc.
It has been designed for urban congested places. The size makes it perfect for crowded Indian cities. In our opinion, it would be interesting as a second car for places such as Cuttack, Puri, Lucknow, Old Delhi, and other old cities of India.
Currently, it is sold only in China. MG has no word on whether it will be launched in India or not.
