Xiaomi at its Smart Living event in Bengaluru on Tuesday launched a new RO (Reverse Osmosis) water purifier. It is priced at Rs 11,999 in India and will be available on Flipkart, mi.com and Mi Home Stores from September 29.
The water purifier uses a five-step process. Firstly, a Polypropylene cotton + Activated Carbon filter that removes large and visible particles along with residual chlorine, colour and odour. Then, the RO filter removes heavy metals, scales and reduces the TDS value of the water. After that, a Post Activated Carbon filter absorbs any remaining odour or organic substance. Lastly, a UV lamp kills remaining bacteria.
It has a storage capacity of 7 litres.
Being a Xiaomi product, the purifier can be connected to the Mi Home app where users can check water level, TDS level, and life of the filters.
A unique advantage of this water purifier is its DIY service capabilities. This means users can replace the filters themselves in just 30 seconds without spending on hefty annual maintenance costs.
At the event, Xiaomi also launched its biggest 65-inch TV and Mi Band 4.
