Microsoft Bing has launched a web portal (bing.com/covid) for tracking the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease by providing the latest statistics for all the affected countries.
Visitors to the site can click on an interactive map to see the specific number of cases and published articles.
According to the tracker, there are 168,835 confirmed cases, 84,558 active cases, 77,761 recovered cases and 6,516 deaths at present, news agency IANS reported.
“Lots of Microsoft Bing folks worked (from home) this past week to create a mapping and authoritative news resource for COVID19 info,” the report quoted the General Manager for Bing Growth and Distribution at Microsoft, Michael Schechter, as saying.
Data is being aggregated from sources like the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Notably, Google is also working on a coronavirus screening and tracking website. Google’s website is being built by Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet focused on healthcare services.
