Bengaluru: Microsoft has launched its new tablet-cum-ultraportable laptop Surface Go exclusively on Flipkart at a starting price of Rs 38,599.
Microsoft Surface Go comes in 2 variants. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB eMMC storage costs Rs 38,599 while the 8GB RAM/ 128GB SSD storage version costs Rs 50,999. It is powered by a 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y. Microsoft claims a battery life of up to 9 hours.
Apart from a full keyboard and touchpad, it comes with the Surface Pen which has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and a 3:2 high-resolution “PixelSense” display.
This is also the lightest Surface device yet, weighing only 522 gm.
The screen can tilt to 165 degrees and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Surface Go has a charging docket, 3.5 mm speaker output, microSD card reader and USB type C 3.1. The USB type C port is used for charging the device and hence it can also be charged from power banks.
The device has a 5-MP HD front camera and 8-MP rear autofocus HD camera, with dual microphones.
It runs on Windows 10. “It gives a pure laptop experience on the go. No other tablet or a 2-in-1 can make your work life easier than this device,” said Priyadarshi Mohapatra, Country General Manager, Consumer & Devices, Microsoft India.
It will compete against the Apple iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.
Microsoft has optional accessories for the Surface Go. There is a standard black cover option which costs Rs 8,699 and the Alcantara covers in Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, Black and Platinum which are priced at Rs 11,799.
