Bhubaneswar: A group of migrant Odia workers arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in a special flight from Manipur on Wednesday afternoon.
Another flight is expected to arrive in the evening with 138 migrant workers stranded in Meghalaya and Assam’s Tinsukia, Silchar, Dimapur, Kamrup and Sivasagar districts.
As there is no railway network in most places in the north-eastern states, the Odisha government has decided to bring back the stranded workers in special flights.
