An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Chamba region and parts of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, the quake occurred 22 km west-northwest of Dharamshala at 12:17 pm.
However, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported from Chamba or Kangra.
Himachal Pradesh witnesses dozens of mild earthquakes every year due to its geographical location.
