Bhubaneswar: Minister of State for Industries and MSME Dibya Shankar Mishra called upon the youths to take advantage of the present industrial environment in Odisha and invest in MSME sector.

Speaking at a webinar on ‘Ease of doing business in MSME in Odisha’ organised by Odisha Corporate Foundation (OCF), Mishra said industries as well as Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) generate livelihood opportunities. But the MSMEs create maximum opportunities for economic prosperity.

It is high time we strengthened the economy of our state by engaging over 10 lakh youth and thousands of skilled labourer, who have returned to Odisha due to the current pandemic, in MSME sector, the Minister said.

“Industries are now keen on investing in Odisha due to its rich natural resources, legacy of commerce and modern infrastructure. Amid global turmoil, it is an encouraging sign that Odisha could grab an investment of Rs 1700 crore,” he said.

The chief speaker in the webinar and co-chair of India Chamber of Commerce’s Odisha state council, JB Pani said, “Odisha took time to prosper industrially. So, it is high time the state government ensured proper implementation of its MSME policy.”

Dr Shantanu Rath of OCF and president of the organisation HK Behera also spoke. The webinar was moderated by Bijay Patnaik, former chief secretary of Odisha.
