Bhubaneswar: A team from Odisha State Road transport Corporation (OSRTC) will visit different states to seek permission for plying buses from Odisha.
Minister of Commerce, Transport and Water Resources Tukuni Sahu issued instruction in this regard at a high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar on Monday. She sought a report on the total number of buses with the OSRTC and how many of those are in running condition. She asked the officials to submit the report within 15 days.
The minister directed that a team of OSCRTC led by its CMD will visit the states which are interested in road communication with Odisha and seek their permission. If other states do not agree with the proposals, those busses would run to border areas of the state in Koraput, Malkangiri and Balangir districts, she said.
Sahu directed to run more number of buses to southern and western region of the buses for strengthen transport network in the region. Besides, she stressed on increasing the frequency of buses to northern districts like Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar apart from Puri.
