Khurda: Two persons, including a minor, sustained grievous injuries after crude bombs were hurled at them by a man in Jatni area of Odisha’s Khurda district.
As per information, the incident took place at Padanpur Chhak near Jatni in the district on Friday night following an argument between the accused a
nd the victims.
Infuriated over certain remarks made by the victims, the accused threw two country-made bombs at them, causing them grievous injuries.
The minor, who sustained critical injury, was first admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Khurda and later shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, for specialised treatment. The other two injured are undergoing treatment in Khurda.
Following the bomb attack, locals staged a protest by blocking the Pipili-Khurda main road for nearly two hours, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused.
After receiving information, a police team from Jatni rushed to the spot, pacified the protesters, and restored normal traffic. Further details are awaited.
