Panaji: A 16-year old boy has been booked for allegedly raping and murdering a 28-year-old woman, who was a native of Odisha, in Goa.
A local court has sent the accused to juvenile home, run by the state government, and has directed him to co-operate in the police investigation, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Edwin Colaco on Friday.
“Postmortem of the body revealed rape and murder by more than one person. The minor boy has confessed to involvement of another person, adult in age, and we are trying to trace him,” the DSP said.
Colaco further stated that the sketch of the other accused has been sent to the border checkposts and Railway Police too.
The rotten body of the deceased was found near Kadamba depot, Porvorim, in North Goa district on February 10. It was later sent to GMC, Bambolim for an autopsy.
