Jharsuguda: In a shocking incident in Odisha, a five-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by his drunken father on Thursday at Bhursimala village under Laikera police limits in Jharsuguda district.
The accused, identified as Dinesh Nayak, fled the spot after the incident.
According to the police complaint, Dinesh returned home in an inebriated condition on Wednesday night. In drunken state, he scolded and thrashed everyone in the family, including his son.
His son sustained head injuries and was rushed to Laikera hospital immediately. He was shifted to Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital as his condition deteriorated.
He was declared dead around 1 am in the hospital.
Accused’ s father Pradip Nayak lodged a complaint in the police station, following which, an investigation into the matter was started.
