Puri: A boy was caught with brown sugar inside the Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Saturday. He was allegedly given the brown sugar by someone for sale inside the 12th century shrine.
Police have seized the brown sugar and taken the minor boy to Singhadwar police station for probe.
Sources say, a security personnel deployed at the temple saw the minor boy opening a container near Maa Bimala Temple inside the Jagannath Temple. Suspecting that it contained the banned contraband, he alerted others.
On examination, security personnel found brown sugar in it.
The minor boy when interrogated revealed that he had been given the brown sugar by someone for sale inside the Srimandir.
