Keonjhar: A minor boy hanged himself to death in his house after his father scholded him for playing online games on his mobile phone in the district.
According to sources, the 13-year-old boy belonging to Kamarjoda area used to play online games most of the time on the smartphone given by his father for attending online classes.
His father Binod Apatta had come to know that his son, a Clsss VIII student, had used Rs 91,000 from his bank account towards online games from the bank authorities. On Thursday night, Binod scolded him for withdrawing the money without his knowledge and wasting it and his time in the games. Binod found his son hanging inside a toilet on Friday morning.
The family members took the boy to the Tata Steel Hospital where he was declared dead. An unnatural death case has been registered in this connection at Joda police station.
