Balangir: A minor was critically injured as a spear accidentally pierced his body in Odisha’s Balangir on Sunday.
According to sources, the 16-year-old boy, identified as Raju Senapati of Ailbhata village under Belpada police limits in the district, was playing with his friends in a field when a small spear pierced his stomach by acident.
His parents and villagers rushed him to Belpada hospital. As the doctors expressed their inability to remove the spear Raju’s body, they referred him to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital at Balangir town.
With the spear still stuck in his stomach, Raju was taken in an ambulance to Balangir hospital. Following a critical surgery, a team of doctors of the medical college could manage to bring out the spear.
Raju’s condition can be ascertained after post-operation care, hospital sources said.
