Nabarangpur: A minor boy sustained critical injuries after being stabbed by two youths due to old rivalry in Odisha’s Nabarangpur town on Monday.
According to sources, the victim, identified as 14-year-old B Srinivas of Mangaraj Sahi in the town, had a fight with the two assailants over some petty issue around a year back. They had kept a grudge against Srinivas and finding him alone at Keuta Sahi square in the morning, stabbed him with a knife.
A local rushed profusely bleeding Srinivas to the nearest hospital in the town. Following treatment, his condition was stable, hospital sources said. But he has been shifted to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital at Koraput for further treatment.
On being informed a team from Nabarangpur police station went to the hospital and recorded the statement of Srinivas regarding the incident. He identified one attacker as Sai of Medri Sahi in the town. Further investigation is on.
