According to sources, Paramjit Singh and his wife Susama Devi of Kalyanpur village in Jharkhand had been engaged as labourers at the brick kiln in Sikharpur village under Jaleswar police limits of the district.
On Saturday morning, while the couple were busy working in the kiln, their 8-year-old son Shibam Kumar was playing with other children nearby. While a tractor carrying a load of bricks left the kiln, Shibam came in front of it. As the tractor ran over him, Shibam died on the spot, the sources said.
On being informed, a team from Jaleswar police station went to the spot. They seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. They have registered a case and detained the tractor driver for questioning, the sources added.
