Jajpur: In a dreadful tragedy, a five-year-old boy met watery grave in a nullah at Raghunathpur village in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Monday.
The boy, from Erba panchayat area, has been identified as Sudhanshu Sekhar Barik, son of Debabrata Barik.
Sources said the child had gone to Dudhei nullah to watch miniature boats which are sailed on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
It is suspected that he accidentally fell into the water body while trying to pull a miniature boat from the nullah.
Worried family members searched for him everywhere as he didn’t return home and found him in the nullah.
Theuy took the body to Jajpur district headquarters hospital immediately, but doctors declared him brought dead.
