Nuapada: A minor body reportedly drowned while taking bath in a dam in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday.
As per reports, the 14-year-old boy, identified as Tutu Banachhara of Goimundi village under Khariar police station in the district had gone to take bath in the reservoir of Lower Indra Dam in morniing hours.
While bathing, Tutu slipped and went into deep water in the dam. Though some local people went to his rescue, they failed to trace him.
On being informed, Fire personnel from Khariar went to the reservoir and launched a rescue operation. After a prolonged search, the traced the body of Tutu in a canal linked to the dam near Chanabeda and recovered it in the afternoon.
A team from Khariar police station went to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. They have resgistered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
