Jajpur: A minor boy drowned while taking bath in a village pond in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday.
According to sources, Biswa Ranjan Das, 14-year-old son of Sanjay Kumar Das of Nuagaon village under Alakunda police station in the district, had gone to take bath in the pond with his two friends in the afternoon. While bathing, Biswa slipped deeper into the pond and drowned.
His two friends rushed to the village and informed his family. Sanjay along with the villagers found Biswa unconscious from the pond after conducting a search for a long time.
They rushed Biswa to community health centre (CHC) at Binjharpur. But the doctors in the hospital declared him brought dead.
On being informed, police went to the CHC and sent the body for post-mortem. They have also registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
