Sundargarh: The charm of Bollywood stars continues to hold its sway among the fans who resort to do unusual things even today. In one such case, a minor boy fled home in the district to Mumbai to meet his idol of silver screen Akhsay Kumar.
According to reports, the boy, a Class X student of Sri Aurobindo School in the town, is a die-hard fan of the action hero of Bollywood and used to idol-worship him. Driven by a strong desire to meet the actor physically, he made a plan to visit the latter’s home in Mumbai.
As per his plan, he sold the smartphone given to him by his parents for online study to arrange money for train ticket and other expenses. Without informing his family members or any of his friends, he quietly left his home on August 9 and went to Jharsuguda from where he boarded a train to Mumbai.
Next day, he reached Mumbai and headed straight for his favourite actor’s house in the tinsel town. But the innocent boy found his dream dashed as he was not allowed by the security guards at Akshay’s house to go inside and he started crying.
Moved by his plight, the security guards enquired the whereabouts from the young boy who gave them the phone number of one of his teachers Anjan Das. They contacted Das and told him about the boy.
Das, who knew the boy closely, informed his parents as well as police. The school student’s parents had filed a missing case at Sundargarh Town police station after he did not return home on August 10.
Town Police IIC Suryakanti Das said a police team has left for Mumbai to get the boy back after requesting the security guards of Akhsay’s residence to take care of him till they reach there.
