Rayagada: A minor boy was injured after being hit by the car of a minister in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Saturday.
As per reports, Law Minister Jagannath Saraka had gone as a guest to attend the concluding day of a football tournament organised at Sikarpai village under Kalyansinghpur in the district in the afternoon.
After award ceremony of the tournament, the minister was returning when his car hit the minor boy at Belakana square near the village. As the boy fell down sustaining serious injuries, the car tried to speed away.
But the villagers chased the car and stopped it at a distance. Mild tension prevailed in the area as the agitated villagers gheraoed the minister’s car.
However, Saraka pacified the villagers by assuring him of all help to the injured boy. Later, he took the minor boy in his car and admitted him in the district headquarters hospital at Rayagada. He also ensured necessary treatment to the boy.
