Bhadrak: A minor boy of Jagannathpur area under Bhadrak Town police limits here is missing for the last five days.
The boy’s father, Rabindra Sahoo who runs a tiffin stall in the town, said his son is untraceable from February 14.
“On February 14 he left home at 9.30 am to visit his father’s tiffin stall but did not reach there. After failing to locate him, we searched for him and found his bicycle near the house,” said his mother Arati.
The parents immediately lodged a missing complaint at Bhadrak Town police station but there has been no breakthrough in the case so far.
As there was no progress in the case even after three days, Jitendra’s parents and locals sat on dharna outside the SP’s office alleging police inaction. But, the agitation was called off after the SP assured that a search operation was underway to trace the missing boy.
“After the SP’s assurance police officials visited our house on Wednesday and ascertained us that they will check the CCTV cameras installed in the locality to get a lead,” said Rabindra.
Meanwhile, ASP Pratap Panda said efforts are on to trace the missing boy and said the boy had eloped from his house on another occasion too and was later traced by police. “It is being suspected that this time too, the same thing has happened. A search operation has been initiated and we hope to find his whereabouts soon,” informed Panda.
