Angul: A six-year-old boy tested corona positive in the district on Tuesday.
District Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty said the boy was staying in a quarantine centre in Angul block after he returned along with his parents from Maharashtra. His swab sample was sent to laboratory for corona test.
The test report confirmed him to be corona positive. He will be sent to COVID Hospital at Talcher on Wednesday, Mohanty said.
With this, the total corona positive cases in the district has gone up to 27 while 17 patients have recovered from COVID-19.
According to sources, total 4,719 samples have been sent for corona test from the district till date. Of 4,352 test reports received so far, 4,325 have tested negative while the reports of 367 tests are awaited.
