Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly gangraped in front of her male friend near the Daya River on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
As per sources, the incident which took place on Daya riverbank in Dhauli area of the capital city on December 10, came to light on Monday after the police apprehended two persons in connection with the alleged gangrape.

friend visited Dhauli area on December 10. When they were returning home in the evening, some miscreants intercepted the them and demanded money. The miscreants dragged the male friend of the girl to a secluded place on Daya riverbank after he refused to give the money.
They allegedly attacked him with sharp weapons and stones. When the girl tried to stop them, the miscreants allegedly tore the minor’s clothes and sexually assaulted her.
As per information, the miscreants also recorded the crime in their mobile phones and threatened the victim with dire consequences if she reveals the incident to anyone.
After receiving a complaint from the male friend of the survivor, the police launched a probe and arrested the two accused, while efforts are on to nab the rest. Further investigation is underway.
