Minor Gets Pregnant During Stay At Rehabilitation Home In Odisha’s Kendrapada, 2 Held


Kendrapada: A minor girl allegedly became pregnant while staying at a short-stay rehabilitation home in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.

According to information, the girl hailing from Jharkhand had been brought to the short-stay home by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) around three years ago when she was found wandering in the town. She was later sent to Jharkhand.

While staying at the short-stay home, the girl complained o illness. A medical examination later found that she was pregnant.

Following this, her family lodged a complaint at the Kendrapada Sadar police station, alleging that she became pregnant during her stay at the short-stay home.

Based on the complaint, police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the pregnancy and are trying to ascertain how the minor girl became pregnant.

As part of the investigation, police have taken into custody a security guard posted at the short-stay home and a minor boy. Both have been produced before a court.

Further investigation is in progress to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and identify anyone else who may be involved.
