Rourkela: Two persons, including a minor girl, were killed after the bike they were riding collided head-on with a truck on a bridge near Balishankara block office in Sundargarh district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Manas Bachcha and his sister Anjali Bachcha of Telijor village in the district.
Irked over the mishap, an irate mob staged a road blockade near the spot demanding adequate compensation for the family of the deceased and widening of the bridge to prevent road accidents in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the goods-laden truck heading towards Chhattisgarh was travelling at a high speed that led to the accident.
On Friday night, three persons were killed after a truck rammed a juice shop near Kutra bus stand in the district.
The deceased, identified as Brijesh Souria, Jilendar Sonakar and Udar Sunakar, were residents of Uttar Pradesh.
