Puri: In a shocking incident, a four-year-old girl died after allegedly being administered a wrong injection by a local druggist without doctor’s prescription in Puri on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Alaka Patra. She is the daughter of Niranjan Patra of Kurujang village under Konark police limits.
According to sources, Alaka fell ill on Friday afternoon following which her father took her to a drug store near Anasar Square. The druggist administered an injection there, suspecting the red spots on her body to be measles.
Later, her body turned blue and she lost her consciousness within minutes.
Her father then rushed her to Konark Primary Health Centre (PHC). Later, she was shifted Puri district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
