Jagatsinghpur: Making a TikTok video cost a 15-year-old girl her life. She drowned to death while reportedly trying to record music videos on TikTok here on Tuesday.
Pujarani Naik from Raibarei village under Jagatsinghpur police limits had gone to a ghat on Debi river near Mangapur in Balikuda area along with three other friends.
The foursome, Pujarani, Nilam Swain (15), Anuradha Parida (15) and Amaresh Pardia (13), accidentally fell into the river while recording the video.
A farmer, Pahali Swain, working nearby spotted the four being swept away in the strong current. He rescued the four minors with the help of other villagers and admitted them to the Balikuda Community Health Centre.
While Pujarani was declared brought dead in the hospital, the other three girls are undergoing treatment.
According to the latest reports, the condition of Amaresh and Anuradha is stated to be critical. They have been shifted to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital.
