Jajpur: A 14-year-old girl allegedly drugged her family members and ran away from the house at a village in Kuakhia area of Odisha’s Jajpur district.
As per preliminary information, the minor girl gave food mixed with sedatives to her family members on Wednesday night at Nathuabar village under the jurisdiction of Kuakhia police station of the district.
Sources said the minor girl added sedatives in the food of her parents and three siblings. When they fell unconscious, she collected some gold ornaments and cash and fled with the youth.
All the five members of her family are undergoing treatment at the Jajati Keshri Medical College and Hospital in Jajpur. While the family members are stable and safe, the incident has become a talk of the town in the area.
Meanwhile, the uncle of the girl alleged that she took the step after being brainwashed by a youth. He alleged that the youth give her some sedatives and asked her to mix with the food.
Claiming that the youth forced the girl to accompany him, the uncle said a complaint will be lodged against the youth with the police after the family members get discharged from the hospital.
