Rourkela: Police have rescued a minor girl from the city, who was allegedly sold off in Delhi. A woman, identified as Sunita Singh, has been arrested in this connection.
Police said the victim is a resident of Gopabandhupali area in Rourkela and she was rescued from Gurugram near Delhi.
According to sources, a person had taken the girl to Delhi on the pretext of a job and then sold her off.
Unable to find the girl’s whereabouts, her family had lodged an FIR.
Following a tip off, Rourkela police traced the girl to Gurugram and rescued her.
As per available reports, police have handed over the girl to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
