Berhampur: A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three persons at Badachakada village under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district.
The girl had gone to take bath in a pond near the village when three youths forcibly took her to a secluded place and allegedly raped her.
Though the incident took place on May 26, the matter came to the fore after the victim, her father and mother lodged a complaint at Rambha police station on June 1. Earlier, the village sarpanch has assured them of resolving the matter, but failed to take any action against in this regard.
A police team has been sent to Surat to nab the absconding accused, sources said.
On May 17, two youths were arrested in connection with the gangrape of a minor girl of a village under Jagannathprasad police limits.
According to sources, the victim on the previous night had gone to the backyard of her house to attend nature’s call. She was picked by four miscreants who took her to a nearby cashew forest and allegedly gangraped her.
