Minor Girl Gang Raped In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Police are on the hunt for two miscreants for the alleged gang rape of a minor girl of Jhumpura area in Keonjhar district.

The victim’s mother lodged a complaint about the incident on Friday at Jhumpura police station, police said on Saturday.

According to the complaint, the girl had gone to a market in Jhumpura around 4 pm on Friday to sell lemons. While she was returning home, she was picked by two youths on a bike. After raping her at a secluded place, the two youths were taking the girl to Jhumpura when their bike met with an accident. As a result, the girl fell off the bike and broke her leg. As she shouted for help, the youths fled the area. Later, locals rescued the girl and admitted her to the district headquarters hospital.

“The investigation is on and the miscreants will be arrested very soon,” Keonjhar DSP (Crime) Suresh Patra told the media on Saturday.
