Hyderabad: In another shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in a Mercedes car by a group of boys in the Telangana capital.
According to sources, the car belongs to an MLA, India Today reported.
Police have confirmed the involvement of an MLA’s minor son in the rape case. All the others accused are also minors.
Police launched an investigation to verify the facts of the case, which was registered at Jubilee Hills police station on Wednesday, June 1.
The incident took place on Saturday near the posh Banjara Hills area. A case was initially lodged under Section 354 of IPC and POCSO Act against the three accused youngsters at Banjara Hills PS.
After medical examination of the 17-year-old victim, police altered the case and added section 376 (gang rape) of IPC.
According to the FIR filed by the victim’s father, the girl was asked to join the accused in a Mercedes car. The accused misbehaved with his daughter and inflicted injuries on her neck, the complaint stated.
The MLA’s family has claimed that the accused got down from the car and was inside a cafe when the alleged crime took place.
The victim is understood to be in shock and unable to identify the accused.
No arrest has been made so far as investigation is underway.
