Berhampur: Police on Saturday arrested two youths in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl of a village under Jagannathprasad Police Station limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday night.
According to sources, the victim on Friday night had gone to the backyard of her house to attend nature’s call when she was picked by four miscreants who took her to a nearby cashew forest and allegedly gang raped her.
The girl narrated her ordeal to the family members who lodged a complaint with the police who detained two youths on Saturday and took them to the police station for interrogation.
Efforts are on to nab the two other absconding youths, police said.
The minor girl was taken to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for medical examination.
Meanwhile, tension has ran high in the area as the locals have demanded immediate arrest of the four accused.
