Minor Girl Goes Missing In Brahmani River Near Rourkela

Rourkela: A minor girl went missing while bathing in Brahmani river near the city on Saturday.

According to sources, the girl of 14 years of age and three minor boys of Padhi Colony in Panposh had gone to the river to take bath in the afternoon. While bathing, they were drawn into deep water by a strong current. On finding the children drowning, the local villagers raised an alarm and went to their rescue.

On being informed, Fire personnel also rushed to the spot. With the help of the villagers, they rescued the three minor boys. The Fire personnel continued the search operation to trace the girl till evening but failed to find her.

They said since the boys know swimming, they had managed to keep themselves afloat till the rescue team approached them. The condition of the rescued boys was stated to be normal.
