Minor Girl Killed, Uncle Critical As Truck Hits Scooter In Cuttack

Cuttack: A minor girl was killed and her uncle critically injured when a Hyva truck dashed against their scooter near Jobra Barrage in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Wednesday.

As per preliminary information, the six-year-old girl was pillion riding on a scooter with her uncle when the truck hit their two-wheeler. As the two lost balance and fell on the road, the truck ran over the girl.

Both the victims were rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared the girl dead. Her uncle is undergoing treatment.

A large number of locals gathered at the spot after the accident and blocked the road, disrupting vehicular movement on the road.

A team from Malgodam police station visited the spot and seized the truck. Further investigation is underway.
