Bhubaneswar: A minor girl of the city, who had reportedly eloped with a young boy, was rescued by police.
According to police, the minor girl of Mahabir slum in VSS Nagar area in the city came to know 24-year-old Rajiv Behera through the banned TikTok app some time back. They both developed likingness towards each other and the girl, a student of Class VI, eloped with Rajiv to his house on September 3.
After the girl’s family filed a complaint, Saheed Nagar police registered a kidnapping case and started investigation.
During the investigation, the police tracked the girl’s phone calls and traced her in Karbar village under Fategarh police limits in Nayagarh district.
The Saheed Nagar police went to Fatehgarh police station with the girl’s parents and a joint team rescued the girl and arrested Rajiv on September 6.
