Dhenkanal: A day after the alleged suicide by a sexually-harassed minor girl of Bhapur area in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, one more police officer was placed under suspension on Friday.
Northern range DIG, Narasingha Bhola, informed about former IIC of Bhapur police station Prashant Padhiari being suspended in connection with the case.
Hours after the alleged suicide by the minor girl, Dhenkanal SP Anupama James on Thursday suspended ASI of Bhapur police station Padmanabha Sahu.
The mother of the victim had told the media that she had lodged a complaint with the police after a village youth sexually harassed her daughter on July 6. Emboldened by police inaction, the accused again harassed her daughter.
Frustrated, she committed suicide in the afternoon by consuming pesticides, the mother added.
