Balasore: Friendship with an unknown youth proved costly for a minor girl in Balasore.
The 15-year-old, who hails from Baiapal village here, was talking with an unidentified youth for some time. Sources said she had been talking to him over the phone and had fallen in love with him.
They ran away from home on Friday but when the boy wanted to have a physical relationship, she declined, after which he attacked her with a sharp weapon and fled. Residents rescued the girl and sent her to hospital.
On being informed, the police arrived and have begun investigations.
