Balangir: The recovery of a minor’s body from a hill near Jilialiti village under Lathor police limits in Balangir district on Friday raised suspicion of human sacrifice.
According to sources, the boy, identified as Somnath Bemal, was missing since Thursday. The family members launched a frantic search, but in vain. Later, they informed the local police.
Though the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, locals suspect it to be a case of human sacrifice. They believed so as a pit was dug at the spot where the body was recovered.
An alleged human sacrifice incident was reported some five years back in the area, sources added.
