New Delhi: Come October 1, all Vande Bharat trains will be cleaned in 14 minutes as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, reported ANI.
According to Railway Ministry sources, these trains will be covered under the “14-minute miracle” scheme which will be launched on October 1 at terminal stations across the country.
Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will launch the groundbreaking initiative at Delhi Cantonment Railway station on Sunday, when the 34 Vande Bharat trains – and counting — will adopt this swift cleaning mechanism, before becoming a daily affair.
Indian Railways is learnt to be emulating the rapid cleaning procedures used for Japan’s Bullet trains, which are cleaned in 7 minutes.
ANI quoted Railway sources as saying that each coach of Vande Bharat trains will be cleaned by a dedicated team of four cleaning staff, who have all been imparted extensive training programmes spanning over a month.
They have gone through multiple mock drills to finetune their skills, ensuring a seamless execution of rapid cleaning operation for these trains equipped with cutting-edge facilities to offer passengers a swifter, comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
