Miscreants Attack Businessman, Decamp With Rs 1.5 Lakh In Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A group of unidentified miscreants attacked a businessman and looted Rs 1.5 lakh from him at DRDA Chhak in Bhadrak district on Tuesday night.

The incident took place when the businessman was returning home on a motorcycle after closing down a shop where he is working. Three miscreants came on a bike, intercepted him and asked him to hand them over the bag containing the money.

When the victim attempted to resist the loot, the one of the looters attacked him with a bhujali and decamped with the cash.

The victim was later rescued by some passerby and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.

A complaint regarding the case has been lodged at a local police station.

Police reached the spot and questioned the locals. They are also examining the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops and other places to identify the looters, sources said.
