Jatni: Miscreants on Thursday attacked a businessman at Golei Market in Jatni of Khurda district on Thursday.
The victim identified as P Bhima Rao, who sustained grievous injuries in the attack, was rushed to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar in a critical condition.
Some locals told police that four to five miscreants attacked the man with swords and fled the spot immediately.
Police attributed the incident to possible past enmity.
In another incident, a revenue inspector (RI) was allegedly thrashed by a group of women lawyers at Sambalpur sub-collector’s office over issuance of residential certificates.
The victim has lodged a complaint with Town Police.
