Berhampur: A day after an ATM kiosk of SBI was set on fire after loot in Odisha’s Koraput district, unidentified miscreants targeted another ATM of the bank in Berhampur city of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to police sources, the miscreants attempted to loot the ATM kiosk of the State Bank of India (SBI) near Govindabihar Eye Hospital under Nimakhandi police station limits on Saturday night. Though the ATM machine was tampered, they could not take out the money, they said.
In another incident, the burglars looted Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and silver jewellery weighing around 500 gm from Bhabinipur Nrusingha temple under the same police limits on Saturday night.
It may be noted that 4 miscreants looted around Rs 32 lakh from the ATM machine in front of the SBI branch at Balda under Padua police station of Nandapur block in Koraput district early Saturday morning. They broke open the ATM machine with a gas cutter and took out the cash box. They then set fire to the machine.
