Bhubaneswar: Some miscreants fired at the workers of a car repairing garage on the outskirts of the city in broad daylight on Sunday.
According to sources, 5 people had come in a car for repair in the garage in Tomando area of the city. As the mechanics were busy in repair of other vehicles in the garage, there was a delay attending to the complaint of the five people.
Agitated over delay and mechanics’ behaviour, the miscreants were engaged in an argument with them. As the argument escalated, a scuffle ensued.
One of the miscreants pulled out a gun and fired 4 rounds at the mechanics. Two of the garage workers was injured in the incident, the sources said.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and prevented the situation from worsening. They arrested the five miscreants and seized two cars and a gun from their possession.
The miscreants have been identified as history-sheeters against whom several criminal cases are pending in different police stations, the sources said.
