Berhampur: In a daring robbery in broad daylight, three miscreants reportedly hurled bombs and snatched Rs 2 lakh from two persons in Berhampur of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to police sources, the two persons, D Duryodhan and Akash Patra of Kanishi village were standing near a shop under the Auto Nagar bypass in the city, when the miscreants came there on a bike.
The three miscreants abused Duryodhan and Akash in foul language and then assaulted them. As the two persons retaliated by counter-attacking the miscreants, the latter threw country-made bombs and snatched a bag containing Rs 2 lakh from them. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera near the place.
On being informed, a team from Golanthara police station went to the spot and started investigation. They have detained two persons in connection with the incident and were checking the CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the miscreants, the sources said.
