Miscreants Loot 5 Temples In One Night In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Miscreants struck 5 temples and decamped with precious idols and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees in one night in Odisha’s Balasore district.

As per reports, the temples that were looted included Mangala temple and Hanuman temple at Patripal, Shiva temple at Kantabania, Mangala temple at Tentulida and Shiva temple at Unida.

All the five temples are located within 2.5 km under Remuna police station in the district. The miscreants entered the temples by breaking open the locked main doors on Saturday night.

The loot came to light after the priests of the temples came to perform morning rituals on Sunday. The brass idols and gold and silver ornaments of the deities and utensils of the temples were taken away by the looters.

On being informed, the police went to the five temples and launched investigation.

Blaming the police inaction for the burglary, the local people alleged that several other religious places and mutts had been targeted by the miscreants in the last few months.
