Puri: Striking in a big way, armed miscreants allegedly looted 270 grams of gold and 6 kilograms of silver from a jeweller at gunpoint in Delang area of Odisha’s Puri district.
As per preliminary reports, the incident took place on Wednesday night Prashant Mohapatra of Delang, who runs a jewellery shop in the local market, was returning home.
Around five miscreants, armed with guns, intercepted Prashant while he was proceeding to his house after closing his shop. The miscreants threatened him at gunpoint and decamped with 270 grams of gold and 6 kilograms of silver he was carrying. The incident occurred at a place close to the police station
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, the Delang police initiated an investigation and launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the miscreants.
