Nuapada: Unidentified miscreants looted around Rs 14.8 lakh from an ATM of the State Bank of India (SBI) at Khariar in Odisha’s Nuapada district.
After the incident came to light on Monday morning, the bank authorities lodged a complaint with the police. An investigation has been launched into the incident, sources said.
According to preliminary information, miscreants broke open the ATM using gas cutters and fled with around Rs 14.80 lakh cash. Bank officials said the last transaction was made in the ATM at around 8:30 pm on Sunday.
The robbery was suspected to have been committed late in the wee hours. Details would be known only after investigation.
According to Khariar SDPO Arup Abhisekh Behera, the IIC is investigating the case and efforts are on to identify and nab those involved in the crime. The police are also waiting for the CCTV footage which will be of immense help in the probe.
