Berhampur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 25 lakh at gunpoint from toll plaza employees at Haridamula Square under Khallikote police limits in Ganjam district on Monday afternoon.
According to sources, as many as five miscreants waylaid the employees while they were on their way to deposit the amount in a bank. They fired in the air to create terror and fled with the money.
The police have started investigation into the matter based on a complaint. All entry and exit points have been sealed to nab the looters, sources added.
Earlier in February, unidentified miscreants had looted lakhs of rupees from Baharabati Mahula liquor shop in Berhampur. A group of four masked men stormed into the liquor shop, held the staff at gunpoint and looted the money.
